EUSE
One of the best ways of saving resources is to reuse things we
already have. Many of us do it already without even realising it
e.g. refilling bottles, getting shoes re-heeled, buying a second-hand
car, using a library.
Charity shops are a good example of reuse. By taking your old clothes,
books and CD’s to charity shops, other people can use them.
This extends the lifespan of the item. Don’t forget, charity
shops aren’t always full of old, untrendy clothes –
they can often be a great source of cheap authentic items that have
come back into fashion!
Here are a few more tips to help you reuse:
• Use rechargeable batteries instead of disposable ones
• Use a box with a lid for taking sandwiches to school instead
of wrapping them in cling film
• Re-use envelopes by putting labels over the old address
• Use old bottles and jars for storage
• Get computer cartridges re-filled instead of buying new
ones
• Buy a re-usable shopping bag instead of using plastic carrier
bags
